A Few Days in Sydney
Our last few days in Sydney just flew by, but we made the most of it. Wednesday Nathan had classes until 2:00, so that left Aimee and I on our own. We slept in, as we got in fairly late Tuesday night. So by midmorning or so, we toured around Sydney University taking a few pictures of their quad...much bigger and better than Redeemer's - people actually sit out there and read/socialize. After walking around a bit and taking it all in, we went to Nathan's place to use the internet and let our parents know that we were still alive. Then Aimee and I went out for lunch and walked around the mall that was near our hotel.
When Nathan was done his classes we headed out for an afternoon of walking. And walking we did! We walked, and walked...and a few hours later, we were still walking. It wasn't as bad as it seems. We walked through a couple of parks, along the habour, and took the classic picture of the Opera House with the Sydney Bridge in the background, then we walked around the Botanical Gardens. Saw so many bats in the trees! Then we walked down to the Rocks (historical part of Sydney), and then we walked across the Sydney Habour Bridge...and back. Then we walked to a chocolate cafe..mmm so good. We figured we walked about 10km.
Thursday, Nathan had classes all day and had to get ready for his weekend trip so Aimee and I were on our own. We went to Paddy's Market hoping to get some souvenirs, but we didn't find too much. Then we went back to Darling Habour, walked in and around a very cool fountain (I'll show you a picture of it later) and since it was free: the Australia Martime Museum. By the time we got out of there it was raining, so we had to do something inside. So we went to the Aquarium, where we saw lots of fish, sharks, crocodiles, and a lot of other cool animals. By then it was almost dinner time so we went over to Nathan's for dinner. Afterwards we went out for coffee/hot chocolate and that was the end to our time in Sydney.
It was a good time and we took lots of pictures and made tons of memories. The time was way too short and I'm definately going to have to come back to see more of Australia!
