A WhirlWind

Wow, a lot has happened in just over a week. A week and a half ago, I finished my internship with Athletes in Action, and I began Head Coaches Training for camps the next day (Thursday). There were 7 Head Coaches that attended training and we learned about teaching kids, we went through the life of Paul, leaders in the Bible (Moses, David, and Joseph), and conflict team management. It was really good and applicable - I learned a lot in a short amount of time. Not only did we have those sessions, but we also had some fun. We played some soccer (obviously) and fresbie, climbed a mountain, went to downtown Vancouver, and White Rock.

Downtown Vancouver was really cool. We met up with Brent, who is working with youth works, and he took us down to East Hastings to hand out coffee and engage in conversations. It was really cool and eye opening. I ended up talking to a woman for awhile about what she believed and I tried to explain to her why I believed in God and what Jesus did for us on the cross.

After Head Coaches Training was over, I flew back to Ontario (Monday). I got home around 1:00-1:30 Tuesday morning. After sleeping for a few hours, I was out and about getting some errands done...and hanging out with Tim and Angie :) Wednesday I had a dentist appointment, and then Darren, Travis, and Reuben came over to work on Coaches Corner. I barely had a day at home before Coaches Training began on Thursday. There are 12 coaches in Ontario and we all stayed in the Pres Res at Redeemer. We went through the binder that I worked on during my internship and did some on the field training until Saturday. Then Sunday all the teams left for their first camps. My team headed up to Orangeville for their church service and volunteer orientation. And then today was the first day of camp. Such a whirlwind.
