A Jet Plane Took Me Away

So...I'm going to try to start blogging again - actual blogging and not just journaling about my weeks of soccer camp; although I will warn you, I am planning to finish writing about my summer of camps from last year, so you'll still be able to read all about them :)

As the title may give away, I am not at home in Ontario. Nope, yesterday I flew half-way across the country to Beautiful BC. How did I get here? Well I'm still trying to figure it all out. About a month ago, I accepted an internship with Athletes in Action and tomorrow I have my first day at the head office. As soon as I told Ade about my internship, she was on the phone with her parents making sure I had a place to stay while I was in BC.

The week leading up to yesterday was a little bit crazy with a couple of exams to study and write, moving out of the house, having a shower for my sister, moving my desk and bed out of the house, and cleaning/organizing my room, and then packing for two months. It didn't really hit me that I was leaving home and family for two months until the plane was touching down in Edmonton. Its going to be wierd being gone for two months, not seeing my family, and being more than just 30 minutes away from home. A couple of hours later, I was in BC and getting settled.

Today, I learned about the avenues and streets of BC; now that I understand how it works, it makes sense. I also got my barings, so that I know where to go and how to get back to the house. Tomorrow I start working; getting up early (early BC time, almost normal Ontario time) so that I can catch my bus. Time to start my two months in BC.
