Golfing
This past Thursday I woke up nice and early - 4:30 am. Why would I do this to myself, you ask? Well, its all part of the job. Athletes in Action had their annual fundraiser: a golf marathon - 100 holes of golf in one day. In order to get all this golfing in, play had to begin at 6:00 am, which meant we, the caddies, had to be at the golf course by 5:15.
I was a caddie for the day. Let me tell you, I don't know that much about golf. Sure I've played many rounds of mini golf, and I had even been to the driving range...once, and sometimes I would even watch the last few holes of Tiger Woods when my dad or brother was watching it, but other than that I knew very little. Thanks to watching Tiger Woods, I knew what an eagle, birdie, boogie, and double boogie was, so I wasn't completely out of the woods (get it?? cause woods are a type of club :) yes, i know i'm funny). But knowing what club to use when - not a clue. Lucky for me the person I was cadding for never asked for my opinion on what club to use.
I had a pretty fun day - definately beats being in the office all day, especially since it was a beautiful day. There were groups of 3 and each had their own caddie, with our own golf cart to drive around for the day. The group I was in was fun; interesting at times as I was told I was going to be set up with a couple of different guys: some friends of their family and some their own son. I'll let you know how it turns out :) I even hit a couple of balls throughout the day. They didn't go anywhere close to where I wanted it to go, but I hit them and didn't make a fool of myself while doing it :)
Angie, here's some pictures just for you. Enjoy :)
