Oh the Joys of Travelling :)

Well, I made it home safely...but not without a few stories about the airplane rides. When my family went away on vacation, my brother and sister went through a phase that they loved watching the tv show about airlines and their stories with customers and things that went well. More than once, I remembered that show and looked around for a camera or two!

• Just after we took off, the intercom comes on telling us that they forgot to fill the plane up with water, so if we could please limit our use of water that would be greatly appreciated – even when washing hands. There were water bottles available, but only so many. Yup, not allowed to use water to wash your hands after going to the washroom!
• After explaining for about 5 minutes that the plane was going to terminal 4 and how to get to connecting flights in terminal 6. Very helpful, as it was a confusing airport. The problem? We went to terminal 7 instead.
• Being at the terminal, waiting for everyone to get off the plane so that we can make our connecting flight. After waiting 5 minutes, no one has left. Then the intercom: “Sorry, for the delay, but there is no ground crew to get the walkway to the door. They are on their way.” Why this issue? Yeah, the plane went to the wrong terminal.
• After waiting 6 hours for our connecting flight and seeing lots of planes come in and take off with no major delay and then when it comes to our flight it gets delayed – by almost 2 hours! Yup, our layover turned from 6 hours to 8 hours. This delay also caused us to miss our last connecting flight.
• Even though we missed our connecting flight to Buffalo because of the delayed plane, somehow my luggage made it all the way to the Buffalo when there was no other connecting flight after we landed. Aimee’s was waiting for us in Washington.
• Having to stay overnight in Washington because of the missed flight. We did get put up in a hotel, we weren't there very long. We got there around 1:30am and had to leave by 6am. Not enough time to sleep!

Oh, how I love flying! :)
