varisty soccer season

so another varisty soccer season has come and gone. it seems like forever ago that I came to Redeemer the weekend before school started for "soccer training weekend" aka, soccer boot camp. we had three two hour practices within twenty-four hours of it...most of thoses six hours was deciated to running. but it was a great weekend, meeting all the rookies and seeing all the vets who returned. when the team was made, it looked for a promising season. not only did we have the skill, but we had the attitude, and determination to make this season a great season. some highlights from the season was our road trips to sudbury, and sarnia and windsor, the pranster, and getting know some really great girls.

our trip to sudbury was at the beginning of the season. this six hour bus trip allowed us to get to know each other -- very well. all the rookies were looking good with their party hats and sunglasses, they even serenaded us after dinner.

near the end of the season, we went on another trip to sarnia and windsor. this time, the team pranster's came with us. "they" were watching us! haha, let me explain, after our trip to sudbury, all the girls on the team got letters in their mail boxes saying that we would have some fun a practice before we got down to the real, hard work. everyone was told to bring something. some girls had to bring tape, rope, movies, jello, their singing voices, a purple shirt to name a few. nothing happened at practice. over the rest of the season, every so often, we would all get something in our mail that would confuse us all. we all thought that the pranster would come forward every time we got something in the mail, but they never did. the pranster was often a topic of conversation during practices or on the bus rides to and from games...it got so bad that we started accusing everyone on the team.

last night, we had our soccer party. even though soccer has only been done for a week and a half, it seemed like i haven't seen most of the girls in forever. going from seeing them everyday for at least two hours, to only passing them in the school is quite the change. it was good to hang out with everyone again. the end of the season party would have been a great time for the pransters to come forward, but of course they didn't...i guess they want to keep this up for indoor as well. girls, thanks for a great season!!
